XENIA — Greene County Parks & Trails (GCP&T) recently honored its volunteers for their hours of service at the agency’s tenth annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner.

“We are thrilled to honor our 122 volunteers that help us throughout the year in the office, throughout our system of parks and trails, as well as during our numerous special events,” said GCP&T Director Chrisbell Bednar said. “We could not fulfill our mission without the skills and time of our volunteers.”

According to a GCP&T estimate, volunteer service to the agency in the last year — a total of 7,097 hours — is valued at $160,037.35 in savings to the county.
