GREENE COUNTY — Greene County Libraries host a variety of events monthly. The following local community libraries will host August events.

Cedarville

Online Book Club Week, Monday, Aug. 15, 22. Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee.

Birds of Prey for ages 6-11, 1:30-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10. Learn about and see birds of prey from The Glen Helen Raptor Center.

Afternoon Movie for ages 6-11, 1:30-3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11. Enjoy an afternoon watching a great movie on the big screen.

Knitting and Crocheting for Beginners for adults, 6-7:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16. Learn to knit or crochet this summer! Learn from other experienced attendees who will share their knowledge, and enthusiasm for teaching others to knit and crochet. Registration required.

DIY Toys: Felt Toolbox for adults, 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20. Make a fun felt toolbox and tools for the special child in your life.

Essential Oils 101 for adults, 2-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27. Learn about essential oils and how they can be used in your everyday life. Registration required.

Healthy Tailgates for adults, 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30. It is the time of year when we start getting ready for football games. See several examples, receive recipes, and taste some “healthier” tailgate foods. Registration required.

Jamestown

Drop-in Crafters for adults, 5:15-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 16, 23, 30. Drop in the library and join other crafters are they work on various projects, from knitting to scrapbooking, and everything in between.

Birds of Prey age 6 and under, 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10. Learn about and see birds of prey from The Glen Helen Raptor Center.

Card Making and Paper Crafts for adults, 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16. Card making and paper crafts with a monthly theme. Instruction and supplies furnished. Registration required.

3D Printer Demo, 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17. Kevin Delecki demonstrates his 3D printer.

Jamestown Community Library’s Read Between the Wines Book Discussion, 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17. Join us for a fun book discussion at Caesar Creek Vineyards located at 962 Long Road, Xenia. The selected title is The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer. Food may be brought in, but all drinks must be purchased at the Vineyard.

DIY Decorative Mirror for adults, 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20. Make a decorative chrysanthemum mirror with plastic spoons. All materials provided. Registration required.

Bottle Cap Jewelry for adults, 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23. Create something beautiful out of plain bottle caps. All materials provided. Registration required.

Perler Beads for ages 9-18, 4:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9. Join us in making perler bead designs.

Middle School Book Tasting for grades 6-8, 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11. Spend the afternoon sampling books.

Summer Craft Day for ages 3-8, Friday, Aug. 12. Stop by any time today and do a summer craft.

Harry Potter Club for ages 8-12, 4:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15. Join the library and have fun while we talk about the books and movies and do Harry Potter projects.

Winters-Bellbrook Community Library’s Rockin’ Pirate Magic Show, 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16 at the Bellbrook Presbyterian Church. Registration required.

High School Book Tasting for grades 9-12, 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18. Join us in sampling a variety of books. Registration required.

Green Grass Olympics for ages 8-11, 2-3:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19. Compete in events such as hula hoop, bear bounce and broom jump. Registration required.

Winters-Bellbrook Community Library’s American Girl Doll Party: Summer Swing for ages 8-11, 3-4:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22 at the Bellbrook Presbyterian Church. Bring your favorite doll and celebrate the end of summer with a swinging good time. Registration required.

Yellow Springs

One on One Tech Tutoring for adults, 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22. and Thursday, Aug. 25. Register for a one-on-one tech tutoring session with a librarian. Registration required.

Ultimate Book Trivia Contest for ages 11 and up, 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10. During the summer, read our twelve trivia books. Create your own team ahead of time, or we’ll create teams the day of the contest.

Google Like a Librarian for adults, 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13. Feel free to bring your own device and Google search along with the librarian.

Back to School Coffee & Crafts, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19. Drop the older kids off at school and join us at the library for coffee. Craft & a snack for the kids and coffee and pastries for the adults. Learn more about what the library has to offer you during the school year.

Brenda Sandman-Stover presents Stop Stressing & Start Living for adults, 1-2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20. Modern life is full of hassles, deadlines, frustrations and demands. Learn how to recognize the signs and symptoms of stress.

Ice Cream and More for grades 2 and up, 3-4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23. Kicking off our Tuesday after school programs with Ice Cream. Registration required.

Lego in the Library, 3-4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30. Build with Lego blocks. Popsicles for everyone who helps clean up.
