Scouts fall to Lexington Hustlers
LEXINGTON — Xenia put up only one run in their matchup against the Hustlers, Tuesday in Lexington. The Scouts (12-10) lost 7-1, their third in a row.
Lexington (6-14) had the hits advantage, 13-6. Andrew Carrillo scored Xenia’s only run in the sixth inning and finished with one hit in two at-bats. Michael Frigon and Clayton Brandt each had two hits and Mac Seibert added another.
Aaron Alexander pitched six innings for the Scouts, giving up 10 hits and six runs, five of which were earned. Lexington scored two runs in the first, fifth and sixth innings.
Xenia sits at second in the Great Lakes Summer College League standings, two and a half games behind the Cincinnati Steam. They play the Hustlers again at 7:05 p.m. today in Lexington.
Ohio Fury hosting baseball, softball tournaments
The Ohio Fury softball program will host baseball and softball tournaments July 4-6 at K.C. Geiger Park in St. Mary’s, Ohio. The softball tourney will be an ASA Eastern qualifier for 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U divisions. The baseball tournament will host 14U, 16U and 18U+ American Legion-sanctioned teams. Liane golf outing set for July 7
FAIRBORN — The annual Whitey Liane golf outing will be held Monday, July 7 at the Gem City Golf Course (formerly Greene Country Club). Beavercreek, Skyhawk Sports offer multi-sport camp
BEAVERCREEK — The City of Beavercreek, in cooperation with Skyhawks Sports, is offering a Multi Sport Camp for ages 3-4. This camp allows athletes to learn the rules and essential skills of each sport along with life lessons such as respect and teamwork.
Camp will be held at Rotary Park from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on July 21-July 25. Resident fee is $55 and non-resident fee is $65. Mini Hawk Camp set for July 21-25
BEAVERCREEK — A baseball, basketball and soccer mini Hawk camp, for children ages 4-7, will take place from 9 a.m.-noon, July 21-25 at Lofino Park, at 640 Grange Hall Road, in Beavercreek. Through games and activities, campers will explore balance, hand-eye coordination, and skill development at their own pace. Resident fee is $105, $120 for non residents. Wright State to hold various summer camps
FAIRBORN — The Wright State Raiders will be holding numerous camps this summer for multiple sports. The summer camps include the following:
Volleyball: Coach Susan Clements and assistant coach Kara Hellmann will host six camps in July at the WSU McLin Gym, including four residential and two for commuters. Specialized camps include an Elite Setter Camp (July 11-13), Libero Camp (July 12-13), Hitter Camp (July 12-13) and a High Potential Camp (July 13-15). Men’s Basketball: Coach Billy Donlon will host a basketball camp June 23-26 for ages 7-18. The camp will concentrate on fundamentals in order to build a strong foundation from which to grow. For more information, call D.J. Wyrick at (937) 775-2370.
Baseball: The Wright State baseball coaches will hold camps throughout the summer with Youth Day Camps scheduled for June 23-26 and July 7-10. Campers will learn the fundamentals of the game and how to play the “Raider Way.” For more information, call Justin Parker at 775-4188.
Women’s Soccer: The Wright State Girls’ Soccer Academy will be back this summer with an overnight camp (June 25-27) and two youth camps (July 7-10, July 14-17) held during the morning hours. Additionally, there will be three one-day camps (July 28 and August 1).
