The US has a history of supporting anti-Christian factions in foreign countries and helping them achieve control of their government. But here at home? Most Christians did not believe it would ever happen here.
It is time to wake up and acknowledge our government is conducting a frontal attack upon Christians who believe Christ is the Son of God, and that the Bible is His word. The current effort involves legalizing homosexual unions as equivalent to marriage between a man and a woman.
A homosexual union is between two males or two females, who have no intention of ceasing their despicable practice. The Bible proclaims homosexual acts detestable (Leviticus 18:22); abominable (Romans 1:26-27); and shameful, unnatural, lustful and indecent (First Corinthians 6:9). God’s Truth is forever, and does not change with the times.
Are we so filled with enlightenment as to believe the reasoning of man can overrule God’s proclamations? Have we now determined man is equivalent or superior to God in judgment? Are we so arrogant as to believe we can declare homosexual unions equivalent to marriage between a man and a woman? If so, we are no longer a Christian nation.
It didn’t just happen. It started 50 years ago when the Supreme Court ruled we could not have prayers in schools. We accepted the Supreme Court ruling that the 14th Amendment gave the federal government the right to protect non-believers from having to hear Christian prayers. We failed to exercise our protection of the 1st Amendment: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, ….” If the 14th Amendment gave the federal government the authority claimed by the Supreme Court, the 14th Amendment would be unconstitutional because it violates the 1st Amendment.
Our next departure from Biblical teachings occurred when we allowed the Supreme Court to rule abortions were legal. The subsequent murder of millions of innocent unborn babies is a crime and shame that should not have occurred, and should not be allowed to continue.
We can pass laws to grant homosexual unions the same protections and privileges enjoyed by married couples, but homosexual acts should never be legalized. I will fight to my death the right of homosexuals to form lifetime commitments. But, I will also fight to my death our right to declare homosexual acts a crime and a sin.
