Hogue graduates from Central State University with honors

WILBERFORCE — Lydia Hogue of Dayton was among 300 students who graduated from Central State University on May 10, 2014. Hogue graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in early childhood education from the College of Education. Hogue is the daughter of Mary Kenion of Dayton, Ohio, and Bernadette and Herbert Hogue, Jr., of Gretna, Louisiana.

Hogue, a graduate of The Paul L. Dunbar High School, has been on the Dean’s List and a College of Education Top Scholar for four years. She was selected as the Dayton Location Student of the Month for April 2012. Hogue helped create The Little Free Library® at the CSU-Dayton location last year.

Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge, U.S. Representative, Eleventh Congressional District of Ohio was the commencement speaker. Congresswoman Fudge has been a strong supporter of Central State University and was was one of the influential persons from the State of Ohio who contributed to Central State University receiving Land Grant status when the Farm Bill passed the U.S. Congress earlier this year.
