BELLBROOK — The Sugarcreek Township Fire Department welcomes Andrew Keister and Kyle Vincent to join their family.
Andrew Keister is a returning volunteer firefighter/EMT and Kyle Vincent has been appointed a part-time position as a firefighter/EMT. Both of their appointments begin Feb. 18.
The Sugarcreek Township Fire Department is actively seeking volunteers and full and part-time employees to fill the needed duties. The department is pleased to have the new additions and look forward to bringing on more talented men and women in the future.
“Volunteers are important for our township,” said Trustee Scott Bryant. “It is always good to have people step up and do that.”
“Andrew was with us part-time from 2007-2011 and is returning as a volunteer,” said Fire Chief Randall Pavlak. “He is also a great handyman and we already have two of his assignments picked out for him.”
He has kept up his qualifications or training during his leave from the fire department.
“I have kept up with my training in my absence and am ready to go,” Keister said. Vincent has been hired on as a part-timer to fulfill the need of open positions in the department.
He will be scheduled for no more than 24 hours a week until March 31, which then he will be permitted to work 28 hours a week. He will be on a one year probation period until Feb. 18, 2015.
“Kyle, we would like to welcome you on board and hope that we can have a long fruitful relationship with you,” said Trustee Michael Pittman.
“I’m just really happy to have him onboard,” Chief Pavlak said.
