Bellbrook hosts winter invitational

BELLBROOK — The Bellbrook Music Boosters will host their Annual Winter Color Guard and Indoor Percussion Invitational Feb. 8 at Bellbrook High School, 3737 Upper Bellbrook Road.

More than 30 percussion, flag line, and color guard units, ranging from elementary through high school ages, and hailing from across Ohio, will compete at the event.

Local standouts include Centerville High School Winter guard, West Carrollton Flag Line, and Carroll High School Winter percussion.

Five groups from the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Schools will also perform, including the current WGI World Champions, the Bellbrook High School Winter Guard. Under the auspices of the Mid East Performance Association (MEPA), the event will start 4 p.m. and awards presentation will start about 9 p.m. Admission for the entire event is $9 adult, $8 students, $7 seniors, 6 and under free. All proceeds support the Bellbrook High School and Middle School music programs.

MEPA is Ohio’s premier winter performance venue for winter guards and percussion ensembles. MEPA is dedicated to the positive growth of young performers through competition. With more than 100 member and guest units competing each weekend between the months of January and March, MEPA will have an impact on more than 2,000 performers and 8,000 spectators.
